Hey, we're Pirate Radio: a cross-genre, Alternative Dance Music act from Brooklyn combining DJ sets with improvised live instruments.
Karan Mehra (DJ) spins a mix of house (deep, progressive, disco, funky), trance (progressive, melodic, uplifting) and electro-jazz & funk.
Brian Taylor (instrumentalist) improvises live on guitars, keys and sometimes the theremin.

We've played in Boston, India, Sri Lanka, but the most in New York: at The Good Room, Brooklyn Hangar, Pianos, Cielo (we miss you), just to name a few.
Festivals
We've had a blast playing at the dreamstate festival in New York, the Lost River Disco Festival in Idaho, among others.

We've been lucky to share the stage with nick warren, jody Wisternoff, Infected Mushroom, Max Graham, John O' Callaghan, Bryan Kearney, jaytech, fehrplay and more.
But our biggest achievement till date has is climbing all the way to #5 on our moms' favorite bands list.
